So I’m being forced to attend this “Arts degree social mentoring program woohoo” on Monday, where basically anyone doing an Arts subject gets sorted into groups and spends nearly 7 hours getting to know each other and walking around the absolute trek of a fucking campus, and I really don’t feel comfortable with the prospect. I understand that I should say hi, and that hi is an appropriate introduction to a conversation, but I never know what to do after the hi and I start to babble on about topics people don’t tend to care about like the level of canon in the Star Wars Universe or the life cycle of a Musk deer and I never make friends. Although I’ve been sorted into the red group, which I take as being a Gryffindor which is quite pleasing. I’m a bit worried about having to walk around in the heat for seven hours, when I can barely make it up and down the stairs in my house at the moment and I don’t think vomiting on peers clothes will help my social credentials. I actually know the campus quite well (although it’s still very Hogwartsish so maybe the staircases will change or something) because I always get books from the library there so I guess I wont feel as out of place as some. I also noticed today that my Archaeology lecture is in the Nicholson museum which is so freaking cool - a day a week in a museum? Heaven!
